‘Vasant Panchami’ and ‘Matru Poojan’

Short Plays

In the Project Method of teaching the tiny tots, teachers introduce the children to different topics in the daily life of the child, like fruits, flowers, animals, birds, vehicles in the locality and. The teachers let the children know and experience the locality. The objects from these topics come before the child as the characters in these short plays, written by our teachers. Children learn many things from these short plays like, the use of food ingredients, fruits, different colours of flowers, the teaching of helping each other instead of fighting. The teacher presents the story, the characters’ dialogues, gestures and emotions and the children imitate it. Expression development begins with these plays in kindergarten.

Field visit

Many community helpers in the society help us in our daily life. To get to know them and know their work, kindergarten children visit places like florists, fruit shops, flour mills, plant nurseries in the vicinity. The children are introduced to the traffic and pedestrian rules while walking on the road. Children chat with all these community helpers about their work and their tools. They observe their work and get to know many new things first hand. Children don’t forget to thank these community helpers for their help.
